oh and rereading my PSAT results and trying to find out what i did wrong
for example

[... acutally, you know what, it won't make any sense either way so i won't even try to explain the picture]
Find the area of the shaded region.
whole square = 36
top left and bottom right corners (not shaded) = 3/4 (pi)
--- each corner by itself = 3(pi)/4 so multiplied by 2 it's 6(pi)/8 or 3(pi)/4
to get the top right and bottom left corners...
--- divide the whole square into four and you get four 3x3 squares whose areas = 9
--- the top right/bottom left corners are equal to the shaded areas in the top left/bottom right corners
--- therefore, the area of the top right/bottom left corners is equal to 9 (total area of the corner) - 3(pi)/4 (the area of the shaded area in each)
to get the middle shaded part
--- 36 (total area of the square) - 2/4(pi) (the unshaded parts of the top left and bottom right corners) - 2 x 9 - 2/4 (pi) (2, meaning two corners - the top right and bottom left and 2/4(pi) being the shaded area in each -> therefore this gives the unshaded area, but i explained that already?!)
--- simplified: 36 - 2/4(pi) -18 + 2/4(pi)
--- or basically (since the 2/4(pi)s cancel out) 36 - 18 = 18
(which my results tell me is the right answer! fuck!)
CAN YOU TELL THAT I'M TAKING PRECALCULUS OVER THE SUMMER?!?
